Results of our Community Well-Being Survey are now online

Many thanks to the 194 people who took the time to tell us what was important to them and what they felt would contribute to the well-being of communities in Co Monaghan.

We have now analysed your feedback and produced a short report summarising the findings.

You can view the Summary of Findings here.

Congratulations to Grace Greenan, who was the lucky winner of the iPad Air which we offered as an incentive to those who helped us out.

The PPN Secretariat used these findings, plus the output from the MD and County Plenary meetings in the spring, to prepare a draft Community Well-Being Statement.

You can  view the draft Community Well-Being Statement here.

The Statement lays out what is important to the people of Co. Monaghan, and will help us to feed into the many decision-making bodies and contribute to the various Strategies and Plans which influence decisions in Co Monaghan.

On Tuesday 16th June, there will be a meeting of the PPN in Corcaghan Community Centre at 8pm. A number of important documents will be up for discussion, including:

– the Local Community Development Committee’s Socio-Economic Statement  (this is the first stage in the development of the LCDC’s Plan, a document which will determine how funding gets spent, where and on what, throughout Co Monaghan for the next 5 years)

– Monaghan County Council’s draft Tourism Plan

– Monaghan Joint Policing Committee’s Strategic Plan

In addition, an update will be given  on a variety of funding opportunities, including the new LEADER, PEACE and INTERREG programmes.

And if that’s not enough, we’ll have information on the roll-out of the new postal code system being introduced nationwide over the summer, EIRCODE

So come along, get involved, have your say, and go home with lots of ideas and armed with the information you need on how you can turn your ideas into real projects.

A good use of an evening, we say!
